History

Robert Bury & Co. (Canada). was founded in 1904, in Toronto, Ontario as a wholly owned subsidiary and branch of Robert Bury Co. Liverpool, England. The company was a wholesaler of domestic and tropical hardwood lumber to furniture manufacturers in the Toronto area.

In 1947, W.J. Caine, father of our current president, W.P. Caine, purchased 100% of Robert Bury & Co. (Canada) Ltd. Robert Bury now operates seven distribution centers totalling 1/4 million square feet of warehouse space. The distribution centres are strategically located serving the industrial regions of Canada from Western Ontario to the Atlantic provinces.

Robert Bury and its sister company have combined annual sales of $215,000,000 and over 1,200 employees.

Robert Bury is the leader in sales of Formica® brand plastic laminate, lumber, melamine and other wood panel products to the furniture, kitchen cabinet and related woodworking industries in Eastern Canada.
